T.I.M.B.E.R.'s Reisen
Circus Fantasia - Rostock (Germany)
The idea comes from the ensemble collective SONDER to re-adapt one of the most representative works by composer Michael Gordon: "TIMBER", a work for six percussionists playing wooden simantras.
The ensemble SONDER has always been interested in proposing original adaptations of classical works through a careful study of sound and visual arts, without neglecting the classical context. After the exciting project "TABLEAU - The Color of Sound" the ensemble SONDER is plunging into a new artistic adventure.
The result of sound experiments ranging from minimal, electronic downtempo, storytelling, downbeat to more acoustic sounds, "T.i.m.b.e.r.'s Reisen" now aims to offer the audience a unique experience that transcends the notion of a classical percussion concert. In this new musical format, T.i.m.b.e.r. is the code name of a mysterious hexagonal object that travels through space without a specific destination. The fuel it feeds on are the incessant polyrhythms played by the six percussionists who, like "six pistons", never stop moving.
The movement will take T.i.m.b.e.r. to faraway places dominated by the most diverse sounds. Into an imaginary universe into which every spectator can be carried away, curious and fascinated. T.i.m.b.e.r. is waiting for you.... Are you ready to get on board?
The project T.I.M.B.E.R.'S Reisen is a multidisciplinary and an audiovisual project.
