(V)erlesene Romantik
Philharmonie Berlin – Berlin (Germany)
Two men, one young, the other old, live in the same house. The young man likes his old friend but is haunted by one of his eyes, a pale blue one that seems like that of a vulture...
The dark romanticism of Edgar Allan Poe, with its fascination for the irrational, demonic, and grotesque, meets dreamy music, the poetry of the imaginary. Music that embodies the romanticism of two of the most famous compositions for piano duo by Schubert and Brahms.
A literal and musical imagery, complemented by the notes of the eclectic pianist and composer Fazıl Say and the infinite sounds of the classical percussion world.
